MODEL FLYING CLUBS
Canyon Crosswinds is located 20 miles north of San Fernando Valley at the East
side of Lower Castaic Lake. Just 10 minutes north of Six Flags Magic Mountain.
The Giant Scale Squadron (GSS) is a model airplane club located in the San Fernando Valley just north of Los
Angeles. While as modelers, we are primarily interested in large scale model airplanes, we welcome all
modelers to joint our club. We host four all day fun-fly events at the Sepulveda Basin Apollo XI field yearly.

The Skimmers were one of the first Fast
Electric model boat clubs in the country. We
have dedicated ourselves to becoming one
of the fastest group of electric model boaters
and have several national champions and
record holders.
Welcome to the Tri-City Model Yacht Club Web site. We sail at Tri-City Park in Placentia CA on the
second Sunday of each month, although there are usually several members on the pond on any
given Sunday. A group also meets on Wednesdays. We race U.S. One Meters, Marbleheads, Santa
Barbaras, and V-32s.
To those of you who wish to learn more about radio controlled sailing,
racing, and about our organization, Orange County Model Sailing Club
(OCMSC), you have come to the right place. Our regular sailing
location is William R. Mason Regional Park in Irvine, California. We
sail every Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday from 10:30 am to 3:30
pm except when we are visiting other clubs on regattas.
Take a walk around North Lake nearly any weekend and you will
likely notice one of Woodbridge Village's more picturesque clubs in
action, the Woodbridge Radio-Controlled Yacht Club (WRCYC). The
club is open to all WVA members and a limited number of non-WVA
members.
The San Diego Argonauts are a non-profit organization dedicated to promote radio control model
boating and racing. We meet and race monthly at the model yacht pond located in the heart of
San Diego's Mission Bay recreational area. The model yacht pond, built by the City of San Diego,
is designed and used only for model boating.
The Ship Modelers Association (SMA) is the largest ship modeling club in California, and one of the largest in the nation. We
seek to foster research and interest in our Nautical Heritage by researching and building scale ship models.
The Muroc Model Masters R/C Club is a group of people who are primarily
associated with Edwards AFB California, either as military or a civilian contractor.
The San Fernando Valley Radio Control Flyers is Academy of Model Aeronautics Charter Club #152, and is
currently enjoying it's 54th year. The Apollo XI field is located in the Sepulveda Basin, a flood control area
along the Los Angeles River in the Los Angeles community of Encino. The flying field is available every day
from dawn to dusk except during sanctioned field events.
This is the R/C power plane club I belong to. It's located in Camarillo California. The club has a 500X50'
asphalt runway, and membership usually hovers at around 200 people. The club's two major events are
the Rally of the Giants Giant Scale Fly In, in May, and the Carl Goldberg Aerobatic contest, usually in
November.
The SGVRCL Club has been in existence since 1961. Our club is celebrating its 45th Anniversary. You
have probably just found the most interesting club around. The SGVRCL has a great newsletter known
as "Interference."
